Chadwick Arboretum & Learning Gardens (AKA I need a better camera)

Alex and I took a bike ride today and made a stop at Chadwick Arboretum. I took my 3 year old Cybershot along. I'm still impressed with what it can do for being so cheap. But it is becomining clear that I need to upgrade!

(All these photos are clickable, but they only go up to 900x600. Trying to keep them smallish for the web.)

This plant wasn't blooming, but I thought the texture was insane.

The plants looked like cotton. I should have touched one... or taken a photo of the plaque. That's another cool part of Chadwick... everything is labeled.

The wind was pretty wild, so getting a clear shot with a non SLR camera was interesting.

This looks better big. Not a great photo, but the fuzz on the plant and the ant on the petal are both pretty neat.

Ah! A bee!

Alex fell in love with this stuf. ("Blue Shadow" - a large fothergilla)

We also checked out the tree area. Alex informed me that bugs live inside this leaf.

I'm glad he went to OSU for forestry. He knows all the cool plant places around town. Next week we're hitting up some grassy area near the Park of Roses.
