Thanks to @SisterDiane, I came across Recyclart today. What a fantastic site! At first, I wasn't sold... but about 10 pages in things started to get more exciting. I found a few projects I'd love to attempt. I suppose we'll see how things work out this month with Thing-A-Day. This is a fantastic site for inspiration.
