Hellooooo. The theme for this week's Friday Five with Mar, Cynthia, and Courtney is Favorite songs to pump up a workout. This is kind of a foreign topic to me because I listen to podcasts and audiobooks on my solo workouts, but I've been thinking about making a playlist for Saturday's Indy Women's Half so the timing is perfect.
My taste in "normal" music and my taste in pump up music is very different. To me, pump up music means fun, light, and grounded by a solid beat.
A new-ish song: Jason Derulo "Want to Want Me"
Runner up: The Weekend "Can't Feel My Face"
An alternative song: Beck "Devils Haircut"
Runner up: Smashing Pumpkin's "Tonight, Tonight"
Lady's choice: Katy Perry ft. Juicy J "Dark Horse"
Runner up: "E.T." ft. Kanye
Sick beatz: Missy Elliot "Work It"
Runner up: Kanye "Robocop," "Why I Love You", "Stronger" or ... there are a lot.
General Pump Up Song: Flo Rida "Good Feeling"
Runner up: The Black Eyed Peas "Just Can't Get Enough"
An album perfect for running (fast):
Girl Talk "Feed the Animals" (Colorful language since it's full of samples. You have been warned. )
My playlist:
In-progress playlist on Youtube. I don't really know that it's good, but the songs work for me. ;)
